fusiliers

fusiliers were originally rasied to escort and guard the artillery trains, and from there they developed into yet another form of infantry, though they were organized and trained in same way as other units.they were armed with shorter musket, the fusil, from which their title was dervied.to enhance their status, there were few fusilier regiments in the british army, and they developed their own traditions, badges and distinctions.
